The Himalayan Society of Geoscientists (HSG) is a non-profit, multidisciplinary professional organization committed to advancing geosciences and engineering for the sustainable development of the Himalayan and adjoining regions. Recognizing the ecological, geological, and socio-economic significance of the Himalayas, the Society serves as a platform that brings together geoscientists, engineers, researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and policymakers to address the region's most pressing challenges through scientific knowledge, technological innovation, and collaborative action.

Our Mission
The Himalayan Society of Geoscientists is committed to advancing geoscientific knowledge and engineering excellence in support of the sustainable development of the Himalayan region. The Society seeks to:
Promote high-quality research, innovation, and the application of modern geoscientific and engineering technologies to address regional challenges.
Establish a strong network of geoscientists, engineers, researchers, policy makers and industry professionals to facilitate knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and expert technical support.
Build scientific and technical capacity through education, professional training, workshops, conferences, and outreach programmes.
Support environmental conservation, geological hazard assessment, climate resilience, and the sustainable management of natural resources based on sound scientific principles.
